- The Xsjado, which will change the way you, and everyone else looks at skates. When you look at the Xsjado skate you may love it or hate it, but no matter what your opinion is of how it looks, you can't deny that its like no other skate on the planet. The Xsjado skate is a departure from traditional boot design and over-engineered pseduo-soulutions. By working from the foot-out, rather than the boot-in, Xsjado has created a more organic and less robotic skate- respecting the most important part of a skate, the foot.
- The most obvious difference between the Xsjado skate and a normal skate is the Xsjado incorporates a low souled sneaker, called the "footwrap" and they are designed to act like a second layer of skin for your foot. the footwrap sits far back into the shell of the skate, fitting snugly by means of a molded outsole.
- once the footwrap is properly placed inside the shell , the instep cover and strap is used to lock the heel in place. this lock is the center the Xsjado skate concept, and is the reason that it performs so much different than other skates. the instep-strap appoints the cross-section of your foot from your instep to your heel as the fulcrum for leverage from which all action is directed. since most every other skate uses the area just above the ankle for its fulcrum, you can understand why the Xsjado skate has a much more intimate connection with your foot. now actions are exact and true, requiring less effort and overcompensation. now you manipulate your skate rather than it manipulating you. say goodbye to "cement block feet", the Xsjado skate feels alive-as if it were an extension of your own foot.
- The instep-cover continues up the foot to connect with the lower shin, and is adjusted for fit and comfort by a way of a left and right ankle strap. this total unit( from instep-strap to cover to ankle-straps) provides continuity through the skate and aids the cuff in supporting the ankle. this design, which connects the skates most powerful feature up to the part of our body that is most vulnerable to injury, is key in receiving feedback from your skate. in other words, the Xsjado skate lets you feel what is going on, the bottom of your foot to the bottom of your shin, and everywhere in between, making skating more accurate, more comfortable, and more fun.
- The instep-cover and strap system do such a good job of holding your foot down that the toe-strap almost feels superfluous. however, it is this strap that allows you leverage for jumping. with the Xsjado skate, you are free to articulate your toes and extend them up or push firmly down, this freedom of extension is what's needed when loading your leg/foot for jumping. with the Xsjado skate you'll actually feel a dramatic ease in launch and increase in flat ground jumping height.
- The Xsjado cuff does not have a riveted blot masquerading as a second ankle. instead the petal-like cuff allows your ankle freedom in an direction, while limiting it from hyperextension. the cuff's design was inspired by the variable tension of bamboo tree's which allow them to bend in the wind, even to the ground without snapping. like bamboo, the Xsjado cuff's slits allow it to bend quite easily at its top, but get firmer and more rooted toward its base, giving you more control over that area of your skate.
- The contours of the baseplate and soul plates were hand sanded in the industrial shop by Dustin Latimer for exactness. the large royale groove is perfectly complimented by the Xsjado mook frame, but since the Xsjado skate is UFS compatible, any UFS frame will fit. The large soul and negative areas make the Xsjado skate look bit large at first, but this is solely a visual perception. once you skate the Xsjado skate, and feel how it works you can't help but look down and see only your footwraps as the area of reference. this is because the relationship from the bottom of your foot to the base of your skate is so close that you could have a water ski mounted to your base and still feel in control.
- In terms of adjustability, the Xsjado skate is in a league of its own. Besides the instep-strap's almost millimeter-exactness and the close wrap of the soft Velcro toe and ankle straps, these adjustment points can be repositioned for different foot sizes and skating preferences. the cuff slides from front to back along the base allowing you to find the foot-size that suits you and your footwraps best. The instep strap can be unbolted and reaffixed at different points on the cuff, giving you other options for angling the cover on your instep. additionally the ankle-straps can be height -adjusted on the back of the cuff to create ankle protection where you feel you need it most. The Xsjado skate is like no other skate in the world. it is unparallel in terms of performance, comfort, adjustability, customization, and style. there is nothing more real for your foot, nothing more real for your skating. with the Xsjado skate, you now have the right to evolve.
